Jeff Dirt and the Ikea expedition

Christmas was great, family was amazing, and now we're back here in Boston - enjoying an incredibly mild winter and currently keeping tabs on the Caroline/Duke basketball game from the ESPN Web site because we don't get ESPN and New England refuses to broadcast any games where UConn or BC aren't playing. Stinks for us. We have the 'Auto Refresh' on every 30 sec. but I don't think that's fast enough for Jeffrey.

We recently made it to the new Ikea - which opened in Stoughton, MA in November - and made a day out of it! We rented a Zipcar to get us there (decorated with flamboyant Ikea logos and tag lines), sat in traffic for half an hour after we got off the exit, and finally got to enjoy scrumptuous Swedish meatballs and mac 'n cheese before walking around for 3 hours in the superstore ... and not buying a thing. Good times in Ikea. We kinda made plans to put together and eventually buy a wardrobe to go in our tiny place but, when we got home, decided against it. No room in the room.



The next big event ... Jeffrey's tranformation. He went from 'bearded mountain man' to Joe Dirt to Mexican and FINALLY back to Jeffrey. And all in one day. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves. To properly give credit where credit is due, the master Tim Swing first made the comparison between Joe Dirt and Jeffrey ... hence Jeff Dirt. Tim is a genius.

And to contextualize the transformation a bit ... I awoke on a Saturday morning, after having a small 'tiff' with Jeffrey the night before about him shaving, to find him partly shaven ... definitely looking worse without the beard than with it. I had a good morning laugh, for sure. Carolina's trailing now ... I better watch the game.
